The Surgery Scheduler schedules procedures for UC Health Perioperative and Diagnostic Areas.
Responsibilities
- Schedules procedures for the following Hospital areas using the block schedule, and in collaboration with PTMs, AOD, OR Manager and Directors:
- Operating Room
- PACU
- Endoscopy
- Radiology (only those procedures requiring anesthesia).
- Schedules procedures for the following Outpatient areas:
- Operating Room
- Coordinates with the department managers and Anesthesia the production and distribution of the daily department schedules.
- Monitors physician privileges/credentials as provided by Medical Staff.
- Document and communicate cancellations and time changes
- Provide schedules to specialty services; i.e. neuro, general surgery, etc -
- Edit block schedule as directed by VP
- Liaison between office staff and procedural areas
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
Required Skills and Knowledge: Pleasant verbal communication skills. - Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to outpatient scheduling.
- Testing required.
