Job Description

The Surgery Scheduler schedules procedures for UC Health Perioperative and Diagnostic Areas.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules procedures for the following Hospital areas using the block schedule, and in collaboration with PTMs, AOD, OR Manager and Directors:
  • Operating Room
  • PACU
  • Endoscopy
  • Radiology (only those procedures requiring anesthesia).
  • Schedules procedures for the following Outpatient areas:
  • Operating Room
  • Coordinates with the department managers and Anesthesia the production and distribution of the daily department schedules.
  • Monitors physician privileges/credentials as provided by Medical Staff.
  • Document and communicate cancellations and time changes
  • Provide schedules to specialty services; i.e. neuro, general surgery, etc -
  • Edit block schedule as directed by VP
  • Liaison between office staff and procedural areas


Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.

    Required Skills and Knowledge: Pleasant verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to outpatient scheduling.
  • Testing required.
